Asslamolaikum readers,

Welcome to my Blog. You must be annoyed after reading the Title and not getting the meaning at all. Well, no problem. I‘ll explain that.

Procrastination:

It is the act of delaying some job/work until its deadline. It means to keep on delaying tasks which eventually results in Less or no Productivity.

How to fight Procrastination?

Well, there could be many solutions. One which I used was the “Pomodoro technique”. I heard that technique in our online Courses during Amal Fellowship. So let’s explain that technique:

Pomodoro technique:

In simple words:

“It means to set Timer of about 20–25 minutes and start working on some particular task/goal. After that take a break of 4–5 minutes and repeat the Cycle until Job is done.”

How I used that technique?

I had an Assignment from my University Course. Its deadline was April,20. Usually, I delay my assignments until the last day. And on the last day, it often becomes tough to complete them.

So, I started to work on the Assignment today. Set the Timers of 20 minutes thrice. And ended up with the Assignment done. The only distraction that I faced was a call that I received during that.

My Learnings/Takeaways:

  1. This was a little tough experiment but not too much. I had to feel stressed during the timer.
  2. I felt more focused due to the timer which got me better results.
  3. I will now try to use that “Pomodoro Technique” again in my daily life tasks as I have found it much more Productive. I will make my experience better by:

a) Pushing up the break times a bit(as I had breaks of only 1–2 minutes this time).

b) Putting mobile Phones on silent.

Thank you very much for reading my Blog. I hope it was interesting.
